I'M WALKING TWO WALKS IN 2003!!!! I NEED YOUR HELP!
Thanks for visiting my pledgepage for this year's Breast Cancer Walks that I will do. I will walk 39.3 miles over 2 days during the weekend of June 28-29, 2003 AND I'll walk another 60 miles from San Jose to San Francisco the weekend of November 7-9, 2003.
If you know about my walking in the last 2 San Francisco 3-Day walks, then you know that I'm committed to this very important cause. Please also check this link to my most current Pledge Page and please sign my guestbook so I know you've been there! Thanks! “A woman’s chance of having breast cancer during her lifetime is one in eight. Your chance of knowing this woman is almost 100%” Every three minutes, another woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer. Every 14 minutes another person loses his or her battle with the disease. There are 3 million people (not only women) living with breast cancer in the U.S. and 1/3 do not even know it. Frightening, isn’t it? Especially when you consider all the wonderful women in your life and ask the question…who will be diagnosed next? Will it be my mother? My grandmother? One of my sisters? One of my aunts or cousins? One of my co-workers? One of my friends? Or will it be me? I will walk again this year in TWO walks! I have met my minimum for the first walk and will now need your help for the 60 mile walk in November. I will be spending the next few months training and fundraising. I'm one of thousands of people all over the country who will be doing this in 2003, all to raise funds for the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to support their mission of providing access to care and finding a cure as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs, as well as the National Philanthropic Trust, to provide a special field of interest fund for breast cancer initiatives. I'm required to raise a minimum of $2,000 to participate in the November walk, but I would like to raise much more! I can't do that without your help. In fact, I'm going to need support from many people to reach my goals, and I'm hoping that I can count on you to be part of my support team. Thank you for becoming involved and helping to work toward making a difference in this fight against breast cancer! Lynne Hall - walker #1442(June walk) & #1124(November walk) - 2003 |
